Description

Virtual Machines that have been cloned using Tintri VMstore are taken from Tintri snapshots of a source VM. This KB describes how you can associate VM Tintri snapshots and their clones.

How-To

In the Tintri UI go to "Search VM" and search for the cloned VM you are interested in.

Right-Click on the VM column and scroll down and select the "Cloned From" field

Now on the right hand side, you will see the VM and date of Snapshot on which the clone was initiated on.

You can then search for this source VM and go to its Snapshots, by right clicking on the VM and selecting "View snapshots".

In the Snapshot window you can right click the "Source VM" column and add the "Clone Count" field.

This can be useful information if you want to delete the shared snapshot.
