Description

This article describes how to increase the reported size of a SMB 3.0 share.

For example: The Tintri web interface shows the share 'clhv1' as 10TB in size:

SCVMM also shows this size:

Resolution

The size displayed is the SCVMM share size and has nothing to do with the capacity on the VMstore itself. Tintri currently does not enforce a quota on that size, but SCVMM in a way does.

You can use Tintri's PowerShell Toolkit (available on the Tintri Support Portal) to adjust the size parameter.

Set-TintriSmbShare -Name VMShare -Quota 20000

Then switch over to your SCVMM window, right click the VMstore and hit refresh and it will eventually show the size difference,  typically within 15 minutes.

I made several edits to the wording to make this more user friendly since the author would like to make these public to the end-user. I think it looks good now, will see what the approver things.

Tech edit complete.
